Shawn Wang's caring and sensitive nature projects a strong sense of empathy and compassion, which has had a significant positive impact on his patients and their families. He adopts a client-centred approach, utilising Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Compassionate Enquiry techniques. His interactive and engaging approach allows him to build strong connections with patients and their families.

Shawn believes that the therapeutic alliance with his patients optimises a strong sense of support and connectedness. He thinks of therapy as an opportunity to develop self understanding and awareness to improve one's overall well-being. Shawn understands that this process can sometimes make patients feel anxious and vulnerable . He has worked with clients who access therapy for specific concerns, "reluctant" clients (who come because they have promised their doctors or family member), and clients who are unsure what they want from therapy.

Shawn is committed to working towards positive outcomes with his patients and never hesitates to "go the extra mile" where necessary.
