Melissa Armstrong has over 22 years of clinical experience working in government agencies, delivering clinical social work services. She has post graduate qualifications in family therapy and has worked as a senior clinician extensively within Child and Youth Mental Health Services for the last 15 years.
Melissa is a certified Family-Based Therapist (Training Institute of Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders). She has completed specialised training and has a wealth of clinical experience in the application of Family-Based Treatment for Adolescent Anorexia Nervosa and Attachment-Based Family Therapy for depressed and suicidal adolescents.
Melissa currently works as a Senior Mental Health Clinician at the Queensland Children's Hospital. In this role, she manages the psychiatric care for children and adolescents admitted medically with eating disorders.
Melissa provides both individual and family therapy for the treatment of mental health conditions in children and young people. As part of her approach, she strives to develop positive therapeutic relationships with children, adolescents and their support networks. Appointments with Melissa are eligible for Medicare rebates.
