About Me
Peta-anne (Pete) Burns is registered psychologist with 18 years’ clinical experience working as a senior clinician with Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in Metro South Health. Since its inception in Queensland 15 years ago, she has been in the specialist CYMHS Ed-LinQ role, providing mental health assessment, consultation and liaison, psychoeducation and capacity building to students, their parents as well as education staff in the school communities that she supports.
Prior to studying psychology, she was a secondary school teacher, and holds early childhood education qualifications. These credentials have given her a solid understanding of childhood development and behaviour and how the education system can be encouraged to support the needs of students who may be struggling.
With a great passion for advocating for young people, as well as a specific interest in cognitive, behavioural and developmental disorders, Pete has a commitment to continuing her professional development to ensure that she provides a quality, evidenced-based assessment and thorough reports for her clients.
Pete will be providing psychometric assessments and reports for cognition, executive functioning, achievement, ADHD and ASD for the under 18 population at Eton Place.
